Saint Paul AME Honors First Lady

Over the weekend several hundred of Jacksonville’s ecumenical community attended  “An Evening of Elegance,” presented by the Violet Williams Women’s Missionary Society of Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church. The event was in honor of the church’s First Lady Mrs. Winifred Houston Zanders, a sixteen year servant leader and wife of The Reverend Dr. Marvin C. Zanders, II. For 50 years the AME Church Violet Williams Women’s Missionary Society goal and mission has been to continue outreach to strengthen the church faith, while continuing the ministry of Jesus and Christian service around the world. As president of the Violet Williams Women’s Missionary Society for three years, First Lady Mrs. Winifred Houston Zanders, many missions included establishing the Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal nurturing summer camp for children and working parents that operates Monday through Friday.  Pictured are The Reverend Marvin C.
