By Stephanie Ogbogu – Oct 6, 2020 -If anyone knows anything about showing appreciation, it’s NBA star, Russell Westbrook. The point guard reportedly left hotel housekeepers working in the NBA bubble a massive $8,000 tip upon the Houston Rockets’ departure from the playoffs.
Before their 4-1 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers in September, Westbrook and the Houston Rockets stayed at The Grand Floridian Hotel, where they and several other teams had been isolated from the outside world to avoid contracting COVID-19. Westbrook was so impressed with the service he received that he gave the staff a hefty tip and thank you letter.
“They took great care of us,” he confirmed to sports reporter, Taylor Rooks. “Took the time & energy to do their job at a high level. That was the right thing.”
And not only did Westbrook leave the housekeepers with a great deal of cash, he also left the room “virtually spotless,” making their jobs a lot easier.
The housekeepers may not have been the only ones to receive a big tip. Some are saying that the bellhop also cashed in for a job well done.
