Funding for arts education can be volatile despite its benefits to students. Locally the Jacksonville Arts & Music School (JAMS) is tackling this issue by providing local children in underserved areas with arts education and leadership development during after-school programs. To raise funds, Cowford Chophouse partnered with JAMS for the 4th annual MOO-VE IT 5K. This family friendly race consisted of a 5K, and a one-mile fun run, which began at 9:30 a.m. with a post-race block party on Bay and Ocean Streets. Blocking off the street were racers enjoying music, and a rooftop brunch reception. Medals were given to all finishers and an award ceremony followed the race completion. Each participant received a swag race bag with enclosed specialty items.
The MOO-VE IT 5K benefited the JAMS, a creative youth development organization that provides arts education and leadership development to students grades 3-10 from underserved communities.
