The 18th Biennial Ross Family Reunion was held July 23-26 in Jacksonville, Florida. Embracing the theme: “Coming Together To Move the Legacy Forward,” activities included a meet and greet at the Crown Plaza and a tour to Norman Studios (home of many Black silent films) and also to Kingsley Plantation.

Saturday, the final day of the reunion, participants enjoyed a Wood Sculpture Art Exhibit by Leonard “SANA” Dantzler and recycler Lydia Clemons (purses and jewelry) at the Masjid Al-Salaam. “History was shared, lunch was served, lives were enriched and family was honored,” said Rahman Johnson summing up his family’s venture. A family member smiled and quoted a family tree quote at the closing activity, “The Family Tree will wither if WE do not tend the Roots.”  R. Silver photo
