The River City Pearls Foundation (RCP), Inc., recently accepted a $25,000 donation from First Coast Community Development. The contribution will directly support scholarships for high school and college students who are majoring or planning to major in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields and who attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). To date, the Foundation has received 11 scholarship applications. These applicants will undergo a thorough vetting process and the selected recipients will be formally recognized and awarded their scholarships at a later date.
“We are deeply grateful to First Coast Community Development Partners for believing in our mission and investing in the futures of our youth,” said a representative from the River City Pearls Foundation. “This partnership will empower deserving students with access to resources that can help them excel in rigorous academic programs at HBCUs.”
First Coast Community Development (FCCD) services include HIV prevention, health insurance coverage and mental healthcare to the underserved Duval community. FCCD inaugural donation to an organization that mirrors FCCD’s mission, goals, leadership and community impact. RCP and FCCD previously collaborated on first coast community events and were honored for their efforts to assist college students with scholarship opportunities.
The River City Pearls Foundation Inc., remains committed to fostering academic excellence, particularly among underrepresented students pursuing careers in STEM. With the support of community partners, the Foundation continues to make a lasting impact in Northeast Florida and beyond.
