Friends, family and neighbors ‘excitedly attended the Simonds-Johnson Park 5th annual community reunion held at the park located on
Moncrief Road. Friends reunited from over 60 years partook in the days activities, mingled and reminisced on their nostalgic camaraderie and support. The day’s activities included a health fair, live music, with dancing, prizes and a fish fry for the 250 seniors in attendance.
Reunion committee founding Charter Member Reverend John “Lil John” Williams led the group in prayer to open the reunion celebration.

The highlight of the day was the pound cake prize courtesy of Mary Payne and won by Wanda Brayboy. The reunion is a celebration of city and parks recreation staff member Carlton ‘Softkid’ Bryant (1955-1985).
