Raines Wins 48th Northwest Classic But Fellowship Reigns Supreme

The Jacksonville high school regular season came to a close last weekend with the annual Northwest classic. The annual match up between Northside rivals Raines and Ribault High schools brings out a tailgating like no other! Thousands of alumni from both schools engaged in a bevy of weekend activities that bring back memories and more of their high school years.

The Vikings (9-1).who likely secured the top seed in Region1-4A with the victory, inflicted the mot painful blowout in the Classis rivalry since they topped the Trojans 39-) in 2006.

While both teams had already clinched playoff spots last week, this game had plenty at stake for bragging rights. For the first time in three years, the Northwest Classis trophy will reside in Raines Vikings Way.  Raines now leads the all-time series 34-14 as well.
