This coming Sunday, April 17th the world will gather to celebrate Easter, marking the restoration of Jesus, three days after his death by crucifixion. To commemorate the season, American Legion Post 197 held an Easter Egg hunt for neighborhood children in the Edgewood and Avenue B corridor. The children participated in an Easter egg hunt, coloring contest, games and fun in a bouncy house with a menu of free hot dogs, hamburgers and available fresh produce.
“This was a great day. The sun was out and the children enjoyed the games and competitions and getting to know their friends outside of school. Post 197 is going deep this year in the community and why not start with a resurrection of Jesus and our neighborhoods,” said organizer Joanne Miller. Shown are the children enjoying their time with the Easter Bunny.
