Northside Neighbors Vows to Keep Community Strong

By Lynn Jones – The Victoria Landing subdivision located on Soutel Drive held their 6th annual homeowners associations (HOA) block party. Residents enjoyed a bevy of assorted victuals, a DJ, assorted desserts and camaraderie of veterans, new and seasoned neighbors. Many of the residents have lived in the enclave since 1989 when the subdivision was erected.

HOA association president Gloria Harris has worked tireless to ensure that neighbors are up-to-date on trash removals, city shut downs, city council meetings, rental properties, real estate development, maintenance and renovation projects and more. In addition, residents receive a monthly newsletter spotlighting neighbor’s family and career achievements, meeting dates and entertainment activities.

Victoria Landing in the heart of the northside, prides itself as a great investment for a starter home that includes open floor plans with split bedrooms, patios, large yards and screened in patios. The residents work hard to fight the stigma of “northside” living thus supporting a safe haven in a family environment. The association was recently approved to place speed bumps throughout the subdivision forcing drivers to brake and accelerate repeatedly for pedestrian safety.
