For one week, Motown The Musical held center stage at the Times Union Moran Center, where Motown music lovers enthusiastically sang in unison hits of the Temptations, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Stevie Wonder and the entire Motown roster.

Motown fans were able to take a peek inside the life of Berry Gordy’s empire, his family and his heartbreaking relationship with singer, songwriter, actress and record producer Diana Ross. Complimenting the plays performances was actress Martina Sykes. Martina is the daughter of Jacksonville natives and Raines High School graduate Manual Sykes, and niece to Dr. Reginald Sykes and Darryl Sykes.

Earlier in the week, Martina received a City Council welcome to Jacksonville standing ovation, “It was an honor and humbling experience to perform in Jacksonville in front of my family. My dad and uncles were raised here and my cousins were excited see me perform too. It was great to see so many Motown fans support the show,” said Martina.
