Local Non-Profit wants to Suit Jacksonville For Success

Suited For Success, the local nonprofit organization providing business suits and career attire and job readiness training for men in the Jacksonville community seeking employment is partnering with Men’s Wearhouse, one of North America’s largest men’s specialty retailers, to launch its seventh annual National Suit Drive, a month-long initiative that encourages donations of gently-used suits and professional attire. Clothing collected from the drive will be distributed to Suited For Success and over 180 other local nonprofit organizations that provide job ready skills and training to unemployed and underemployed men in Jacksonville and across the United States. Suited For Success has been providing these core support services to men for the past 11 years focusing on 3 key program initiatives: Man Up Project, encouraging men to mentor another man in need, Fishers of Men, provides Coaching and Financial sessions, and Do Positive.SWAG, which provides positive and motivational workshops. “We strive to battle unemployment by helping men and women get back on their feet and into the workplace.” said Shara Mondy, CEO/Founder of Suited For Success). “The self-confidence that the suits provide gives interviewees the confidence they need to focus on the questions at hand and the National Suit Drive is a wonderful cause that provides needed assistance as we help position our clients to achieve success.”). Over the past six years, Men’s Wearhouse has collected over 650,000 professional clothing donations to support unemployed individuals seeking to re-enter the workforce and this year, the goal is to collect another 150,000 clothing items. Starting Monday, June, residents of Jacksonville can donate their gently-used clothing, including men’s and women’s suits, ties, jackets, shirts, pants, belts and shoes, at (2) locations that directly benefit Suited For Success. The River City Marketplace Store, 13141 City Station Drive, The Regency Mall Store, 9501 Arlington Expressway. As a thank you, donors will receive 50 percent off their next purchase from Men’s Wearhouse (excluding shoes, clearance and Exceptional Value items). Last year, Suited For Success was able to help dozens of men in Duval and surrounding counties receive a chance to get back to work.
