Homegrown promoter Dean Roberts launched Phatt Katz Comedy in July 1998 in Frankfort, Germany bringing comedy to the nation’s troops, spouses and civilians working overseas. What began as a novel idea to bring joy away from home has blossomed to a near three decade career.
Now headlining in Duval County, Phatt Katz Comedy summer tour series recently took the stage at Breezys Jazz House to a packed audience featuring comedians Mizz Coco, Sherman Golden and King Quelz speaking about life’s daily exploits. “Our goal is to produce the best and funniest comedy shows and events while providing a quality entertainment package at an affordable cost for every occasion,” said Roberts. The business of Phatt Katz includes booking and working with some of the biggest names in comedy along with some of today’s social media sensation like Kerwin Claiborne, Kountry Wayne, 85 South, Shuler King, Ryan Davis and Jess Hilarious to name a few. But Dean loves promoting the seasoned comedian that’s always on the verge to be the next big thing keeping Jacksonville and its hidden gems in the forefront of the national entertainment industry.
