Jax Charmettes Host National Convention

Members of the Duval County Charmettes Chapter celebrated their Distinguished Engagement Award as part of the organization's historic 75th National Convention celebration in Jacksonville.

The Charmettes Incorporated celebrated its 75th National Convention in Jacksonville with a weeklong celebration of service, fellowship and sisterhood honoring the organization’s Diamond Anniversary.

Hosted by the Duval County and First Coast Chapters, the convention welcomed members from across the nation and show cased Jacksonville’s culture and hospitality and community spirit through a series of events, leadership  and service initiatives.

Throughout the week, members participated in leadership sessions, fellowship activities, and national recognition ceremonies highlighting the organization’s continued commitment to service and community impact.

The Duval County Chapter was honored during the conventions sisterhood celebration with the Distinguished Engagement Award, recognizing the chapters community involvement, sisterhood initiatives and contributions toward the success of the national convention.

Convention activities included a service project at Cancer Survivor’s Park in partnership with the Pink Ribbon Blue Skies Foundation, Inc., as well as participation in the Red Sand Project, an initiative raising awareness about human trafficking.

A highlight of the celebration was “Gilded Legacy” at the historic Ritz Theatre and Museum, where members honored the organization’s roots dating back to the 1950s origins through music, fashion, and storytelling. The festivities continued with the elegant “En Blanc and Diamonds” reception and concluded with a Royal Jubilee Gala and the crowning of the Royal Court, which recognized scholarship recipients and honored outstanding chapters.

Founded in 1951 in Riviera Beach, Florida, the Charmettes Incorporated is committed to scholarship, leadership, development and cancer research advocacy. The organization has contributed more than $1.1 million to Howard University for cancer research.
