An undercover investigation into a possible human-trafficker with ties to al-Qaeda in the aftermath of a hurricane provide the backdrop for the new thriller from Florida author Ron Whittington: ‘In Disguise of the Storm.’
In the fourth book of the Parker Glynn Thriller Series, Whittington draws on his personal experience as a first responder after Hurricane Ike hit the Texas Gulf Coast in September 2008 — where most of the action takes place in his new adventure.
When a U.S. Intelligence agency fears there’s a connection between Pakistani ‘Risky’ Bhakta’s suspected prostitution ring and al-Qaeda, Glynn is assigned to find a missing father in search of his runaway daughter while he infiltrates Bhakta’s operations.
Glynn soon discovers Bhakta has total control over women he employs — and is confronted with a twisted terrorist plot of genocide planned for Western Civilization.
Whittington has upcoming book signings at American Legion Post 129 (1151 4th St. South, Jacksonville Beach) in Freedom Hall in from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, and at the post’s Liberty Hall from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 — with another at the San Macro Book Store (1971 San Marco Blvd.) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28.
