Human Trafficking Month Closes with Awareness and Assistance

As an component of January being Human Trafficking Awareness Month, the Social Action Committee of the Jacksonville Section of National Council of Negro Women, Inc. in partnership with Rethreaded held a community  symposium focusing on Human Trafficking in Duval County. Shedding light on the plight of victims in addition to firsthand accounts was Rethreaded founder and president Kristin Keen. , Rethreaded operates as a distribution company that sells products from likeminded businesses who also employ women who have found freedom from the sex trade.  The discussion for the audience of over fifty participants focused on survivors of Human Trafficking, their stories, recognizing human trafficking red flags and Duval county statistics.
