Street Cent$For his junior year, Riverside High School student Cameron Marshall’s goal is to be remembered for doing something good for his community. With a strong family support system and often described as ‘someone who absorbs knowledge like a sponge,’ Marshall has published his first book, entitled, Street Cents.

“Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of learning from many individuals and applying their wisdom to my life. Now, I am dedicated to sharing the insights I’ve gained with those who may not have had the same guidance,” said Marshall.

During recess and lunch period conversations with his fellow classmates and Gen Z peers, he noticed that many students lacked common resources for everything from food and housing to parental guidance, transportation and aspirations.

“Knowledge is power, and unity is essential. I am committed to helping others, just as others have helped me,’ he said. “I wrote this book as a way to give back to the community to educate and motivate.”

Street Cents documents Marshall’s determination to be successful, his innovative business strategies, while combining his street smarts with academic knowledge to guide aspiring entrepreneurs and hustlers toward financial freedom.  In addition, the book provides practical insights and motivational strategies to elevate your business or gain inspiration to use as a comprehensive guide to bossing up and achieving success.

After high school he plans to attend college.  He enjoys being a 5000 Role Models member and credits his mentors including family members, his father and uncle Andre Scurry and teacher Reginald Benyard for his success.
