Florida A&M University (FAMU) starting the year off meeting one on one with National Merit Scholar semifinalist with the goal of recruiting some of the best and brightest students across Florida and Georgia.
Last weekend, FAMU Board of Trustees Chairman Kelvin Lawson hosted a evening reception for semifinalists from the Greater Jacksonville area. “Jacksonville has always been a wonderful source for exceptional scholars attending FAMU,” said Lawson. “I’m excited to be hosting an event where the next class of students and their parents can meet face to face with FAMU’s administrators and deans as well as alumni who have achieved great success in their professions.”
President Robinson also emphasized the importance of these events as FAMU continues its focus on recruitment, retention and persistence to graduation. Students interested in attending FAMU can contact Dedra O’Neal, director of University Scholarship Programs, at Dedra.ONeal@famu.edu or (850) 412-5483.
