Fall Festival Reignites Community Transformation and Empowerment

By Lynn Jones – The 12th annual Family Fall Festival was held Saturday, October 23rd with over twenty community partners offering valuable services and resources in the areas of health, education, and economics including Covid-19 vaccinations, GED classes and job leads. The Festival creates a positive, fun, and family-friendly event serving hundreds of people with, food, music, a trunk or treat, and more!
The event, hosted by 2nd Mile Ministries, in the Brentwood neighborhood attracted 500 individuals in the surrounding area.
2nd Mile Ministries connection provides empowerment in a holistic way by supporting the community towards transformation. According to their leadership, through transformation, 2nd Mile Ministries builds meaningful, life-changing relationships and options to not merely settle for what already exists nor escaping what exists.
“We desire to empower, equip and mobilize the younger generation towards a vision of being leaders who stay and transform their community as they live the truth of the gospel in their homes, the church, the neighborhood, and the marketplace,” said organizer and Assistant Director Marc Nettleton.
