Black women in healthcare gathered for the Evolved Nurse Summit 2026, an empowering experience focused on self-care, professional wellness and the importance of prioritizing their own needs while caring for others.
Founded and organized by La’Keisha Logan, founder of The Evolved Nurse LLC, the summit embraced the theme “Reclaiming Rest and Worth,” addressing the emotional and physical demands of healthcare professions and the challenges women face in balancing personal well-being with professional responsibilities.
“Too many Black women in healthcare are constantly giving without receiving the same care, support or reciprocation,” Logan said.
Through interactive workshops, inspirational speakers and candid conversations, participants explored strategies for establishing healthy boundaries, preventing burnout and cultivating supportive relationships. Attendees also received personalized journals to encourage reflection on their personal and professional journeys.
Research has shown that consistent self-care practices, including adequate sleep, stress management and regular physical activity, can reduce stress, improve emotional well-being and help protect against professional burnout.
The gathering also highlighted the importance of creating supportive spaces for Black women in healthcare, who often navigate demanding careers while balancing family responsibilities and community expectations.
Through The Evolved Nurse LLC, Logan continues to champion a culture in which women recognize their value beyond their professional roles, emphasizing that rest is not a luxury, self-worth is essential and caring for oneself is just as important as caring for others.
