Eta Phi Beta Commemorates 74 Years of Doing for Others

For 74 years Eta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. has promoted higher scholastic standards, personal growth, career awareness and community service. This past weekend Eta Phi Beta Sorority’s Nu Chapter of Jacksonville and Alpha Iota of Gainesville held their annual regional founders day luncheon to commemorate their national theme, “Not for Ourselves, But For Others.” Sorors gathered to fellowship, and recognize local sorority ‘sheroe’s’ for their community service and dedication to sorority principals and values. Guest speaker was Clara White Mission CEO Jucoby Pittman.

The sorority honored seven members for leadership and professionalism in the area of education. Honorees included sorors: Flora Bonner, Cherrestene Cohen, Christine Jenkins, Verna Johnson, Dorothy Collins-Kennerly, Priscilla W. Simmons and Carrie Williams.
