At the end of October, the Hall family celebrated the 80th birthday of Edward Willie Hall, husband to wife Dr. Dolores Levy-Hall for 55 years.
The surprise birthday celebration was organized by their five children and held at the Hilltop Club in Orange Park, Florida. Approximately 50 persons were in attendance.
Upon the entrance, the room was decorated in white and highlighted with green, black, and white balloons and large black balloons previewing the number ‘80’. The celebration was a family affair sparked by family, childhood and schoolmate friends of the honoree.
On exhibit was Edward’s many accomplishments chronicled through family photos, trophies and his many awards, including a congratulatory letter from President Obama, a plaque depicting his Hole-in-One feat on the golf course, and a medallion received acknowledging his being inducted into the International Deacon’s ‘Wall of Fame’ of his church, Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Edward retired from the U.S. Post Office as the Post Master of Daytona Beach, Florida after having served in the post office for 42 years. The wonderful surprise 80th birthday party was given by his children and supported by their spouses and the couple’s six grandchildren. At the conclusion, family and friends spoke of the abundant knowledge, wisdom and love Edward Willie Hall has shared and continues to share with them. The celebration ended with Edward speaking and showing his gratitude to God for all that had happened. He thanked everyone for coming and encouraged them to “seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
