This past weekend the Edith Marie Foundation celebrated their 6th annual fundraising inside Venue 841 facing the St. John’s River. The black tie event attire included catered cuisine, complimentary cocktails and live entertainment by the MVP band. Honorees for the event were four breast cancer warriors: Jolene Carlton, Jessica Florence, Mary Frances Mitchell, and Monique Blue. The survivors were showered with love and gifted treasures including aromatherapy, hair products, gift baskets, jewelry and designer makeup.
The speaker was breast cancer warrior Melissa Wright, who shared a testimony of how shes progressed in the last year.
“I just began working again,” said Wright. Wright was also surprised with gifts from hope partners who surprised her with paying her August and September rent. “The entire night was full of hope and love; donating monthly to the foundation helps to continue the work of providing financial assistance to breast cancer patients in active treatment,” said founder and organizer Terri Cooper. The foundation is named in the honor of Edith Marie Cooper, who passed away from cancer in 2016. Proceeds provide economic relief for those in crisis. For more info visit www.edithmarie.org.
