Eckerd Connects and CareerSource Northeast Florida help our young people achieve stable and successful lives.  Eckerd Connects provides valuable training and support programs that offer pathways to job security and financial stability for youth, 16-24 years of age, in Baker, Clay and Duval counties through CareerSource Northeast Florida (CareerSource NEFL).

“It can be hard for young people to find employment opportunities that offer a pathway to job security and financial stability, changing their life trajectory. The Workforce Development program helps them overcome barriers to their success while preparing them to successfully enter the workforce.” said Temeka Perry, CareerSource NEFL Program Manager.

One of our nation’s most significant challenges is to fix the current state of the workforce. Employers struggle to fill positions across pay grades and skills, despite their willingness to compensate well and offer innovative benefits packages.

Eckerd Connects Workforce Development program opportunities include:

  • Paid training leading to certification in fields such as certified nursing assistant, merchant mariner, commercial driver’s license/truck driving, phlebotomist, and more
  • Job readiness training
  • GED/HS Diploma Attainment
  • Job-related supportive services (assistance with tools, clothing, and transportation)
  • Connection with careers leading to self sufficiency

Employers and young people interested in participating can visit eckerd.org/jobs-training/work-jax for applications and more information. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with cohorts launching throughout the year.

Applicants must be between 16-24 and living in Duval, Clay, or Baker counties. Students currently enrolled in high school are not eligible. Household income limits may also apply.
