The Duval County Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. (TLOD) proudly inducted eight new members. As part of their induction experience, the new members participated in an orientation that introduced them to TLOD’s Five Thrusts: Top Teens of America, Senior Citizens, Status of Women, Community Beautification, and Community Partnerships.

Demonstrating immediate commitment to service, the inductees selected senior citizens as the focus of their first collective project. With a shared vision of extending compassion and care, the group organized a donation drive benefiting residents of the Riverside Post Acute Nursing Home. Through community support, they collected enough blankets, socks, crossword puzzle books, pens, tissues, and toiletries to support 40 seniors. They also prepared “goody bags” to thank the staff for taking care of our seniors.

Following the private ceremony, a luncheon/reception was held where family and friends of the new members along with the other members of the chapter celebrated their induction with gifts and a tasty meal. The activity was held at the Beaver Street Enterprise Center. In addition to chapter members, the National Area IV director, Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson and the Area IV membership team were present to conduct the ceremony.

The Duval County Chapter remains committed to impactful community service and invites the public to support its upcoming initiative. The next scheduled activity is a fresh fruit drive on May 19th at the Aging True Community Senior Services, 4250 Lakeside Dr. from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. The community is welcome to make donations at that time.
