89 year old twins Vanestine Small and Christine Jenkins celebrated their birthdays, Friday, August 5th. Family and friends gathered at Carrabba’s Italian Restaurant to celebrate the twin’s legacy. Born in 1927, the native Jacksonville sisters stuck together through thick and thin. The sisters graduated from Old Stanton High school, married their sweethearts, worked and started a family of their own. After 30 years of employment both sisters retired from public service careers; Vanestine with the U.S. Government and Christine an educator with Duval County Public Schools. During the dinner, when asked their secret to longevity, the twin sisters spoke in unison, “we are truly blessed, we give God all the praise.” Pictured are twin sisters Vanestine Small and Christine Jenkins at the celebration
