Guests gathered at Suga Mamma’s ‘Love Affair’ tasting event for an evening filled with homemade pound cake creations, live music, raffles, sing alongs and contagious laughter.

Hosted by Suga Mamma’s Pound Cake Experience, at the Mom and Sisters Event Center on Dunn Avenue, the event reintroduced the company’s 20 year legacy of catering treats to the public. Guests began their evening with a chopped salad topped with pound cake croutons and home-grown ranch teriyaki ginger dressing. The highlight of the evening was the pound cake tasting ranging from pound cake French toast to sour cream and red velvet cheesecake options. Guests indulged in bite-sized portions of smoked brisket on butter toasted pound cake topped with creamy coleslaw and more home-produced house white barbecue sauce.

“This night was to share how the Lord allowed me to take my mothers signature sour cream pound cake recipe and did more than she or I could ever imagine,” said Alicia Zellouse, Suga Mamma’s founder.

Currently Suga Mommas touts 59 flavors of pound cake that substitute for cakes, breads, appetizers and breakfast/lunch/dinner sweet and savory delicacies.

The event brought together foodies, music enthusiasts, friends and colleagues to delight in Suga Mommas recipe flavors, aroma and overall cuisine skills.
