Cowford Chophouse Announces Jacksonville Arts & Music School as 2020 MOO-VE IT 5K Partner

The Cowford Chophouse is proud to celebrate two years of business in downtown Jacksonville with the announcement of its fourth annual MOO-VE IT 5K. The 2020 MOOVE IT 5K will be held downtown on February 22, 2020, and will benefit the Jacksonville Arts & Music School (JAMS), a creative youth development organization that provides arts education and leadership development to students grades 3-10 from undeserved communities in Jacksonville.
Proceeds from the MOO-VE IT 5K will help fund JAMS programming and support the renovation and expansion of its facility. Cowford will also donate 20% of all proceeds from the Starry Night, a specialty cocktail launched on the new Fall 2019 menu, to JAMS.

Earlier this year, Cowford hosted JAMS on its rooftop to raise awareness for arts education in under-supported areas. “The MOO-VE IT 5K has become an anticipated event in downtown Jacksonville with fun for the entire family, and we are honored to be a part of the 2020 race,” said Jason Peoples, executive director at JAMS. “At JAMS, we are passionate about providing children with a safe haven where they are able to embrace different art forms and develop key leadership and problem-solving skills. We are grateful for the opportunity to share that passion with the Jacksonville community through the MOO-VE IT.”

Cowford has been an active supporter within the Jacksonville community for several years, holding the first annual MOO-VE IT 5K in March 2017 prior to opening its doors in October 2017. Since 2017, Cowford has raised a total of $23,000 to benefit local nonprofit organizations, including the North Florida School of Special Education, Delores Barr Weaver Policy Center and Justice Coalition. In addition to the MOO-VE IT 5K, Cowford has partnered with multiple community organizations to raise awareness and funds through private and public charity events on its rooftop and within its private dining areas.
“As we celebrate two years of business, we’re so grateful to be embraced by the Jacksonville community and look forward to our most successful MOO-VE IT 5K yet,” said Jacques Klempf, co-owner of the Cowford Chophouse with his wife, Tracy. “JAMS is an amazing organization that is very close to our
hearts at Cowford. Fostering creativity can be life-changing,” Jacques continued. “We are proud to support an organization that is improving the lives of children in Jacksonville’s urban core.”

Participants can register for the MOO-VE IT 5K for $35, and the one-mile fun run for $25 at
