UF Shands “Little Miracles” 16th annual community baby shower was held Saturday, April 2nd in the Shands Resource Learning Center. Hundreds of mothers, families, doctors, nurses and local non-profit organizations were on hand to provide pre-natal information, pamphlets and after birth next steps aspects of pregnancy. The event takes place three times a year on the first Saturday of April, August and December. Organizer Donna Ghanayem proclaimed, “The baby shower is open to all pregnant women and for many of these women it may be their only baby shower and therefore Little Miracles strive to make it a wonderful experience.” The UF Shower also provided giveaways and introduced speakers who presented information on numerous topics from breastfeeding to nutrition in pregnancy, safe sleep and more! The Baby shower concluded with a drawing for up to 100 items, such as car seats, bassinets strollers, diapers and car seats. It is free and open to the public.
