Clay County Sheriff Darryl Daniels held his inaugural Neighborhood Walk touring the Orange Park Mall. The county’s first African-Am
erican sheriff went store-to-store talking with business owners, managers, employees and customers about safety and security measures during the Mall Walk that took place Saturday, May 6, at 7 p.m.
“I want every person who visits the mall to feel safe as he/she shops. Those who work at the mall should also feel safe doing their job,” said Sheriff Daniels. “My deputies have been meeting regularly with mall management to discuss enhanced safety strategies. We are working together to ensure everyone enjoys all that Clay County has to offer.”
Orange Park Mall was the recent site of a mob fight on a Facebook video that went viral. The video depicted a group of teens involved in a melee that they eventually ended themselves.
The next Mall Walk is scheduled for Friday May 12th.
