NNPA NEWSWIRE — “This is a pivotal time, in our nation’s history, to force positive changes within all of our institutions which are rampant with racist behaviors – federal and state, healthcare, education, corporations, including corporate media, Wall Street – which is appropriately named because they built a wall separating them from the masses of people, formal religions, [and so on],” Camille Cosby stated ahead of the interview, which will air at 7 a.m. EST, at www.BlackPressUSA.com, http://www.facebook.com/BlackPressUSA, and Darcell’s show, which is broadcast on the iHeart Radio network.
It’s been years since Camille Cosby has sat down for an interview.
Though working stringently behind the scenes in to provide direction and assistance with her husband’s legal cases, the matriarch has mostly been silent and has turned down multiple media requests.
That will all change on Sunday, June 14, when Camille Cosby sits down for an exclusive and interview with the Black Press of America’s Stacy Brown and Philadelphia-based iHeart Radio personality Frankie Darcell.
“This is a pivotal time, in our nation’s history, to force positive changes within all of our institutions which are rampant with racist behaviors – federal and state, healthcare, education, corporations, including corporate media, Wall Street – which is appropriately named because they built a wall separating them from the masses of people, formal religions, [and so on],” Camille Cosby stated ahead of the interview, which will air at 7 a.m. EST, at http://www.BlackPressUSA.com, http://www.facebook.com/BlackPressUSA, and Darcell’s show, which is broadcast on the iHeart Radio network.
Cosby family spokesperson, Andrew Wyatt facilitated the exclusive dialogue with Camille Cosby.
Wyatt said Mrs. Cosby thought it important to speak to African American journalists the Black Press of America represented by the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) at http://www.BlackPressUSA.com.
“We are singularly honored in the NNPA to host the exclusive live interchange with one of Black America’s most dignified and valued mothers of our long struggle for freedom and equal justice: Mrs. Camille Cosby. The Black Press stands with the Cosby family, as we do with all families who dare to speak out and stand up of the sake of freedom and the advancement of Black Americans and for the progress of all humanity,” emphasized, Dr. Benjamin F. Chavis, Jr., President and CEO of the NNPA.
During the interview, Mrs. Cosby is expected to present her perspective on the current state of Black America.
She will discuss the many roles and contributions she and her husband, Bill Cosby, have made to causes that have propelled the lives of all races, religions, and genders.
The couple has famously given more than $200 million to institutions of higher education, and their unique art collection remains on exhibit in Smithsonian’s national museums.
Mrs. Cosby has lost a son to racially motivated violence. As a result of that tragedy, she can personally attest to and articulate the pain and loss felt by so many others in the African American community as a result of systemic racism in America.
Her words are particularly poignant in the wake of the unjust police killings of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., and so many others.
Mrs. Cosby will also discuss the many global protests that have taken place in the aftermath of the police killing of Floyd, an African American father who was suspected of a petty offense but killed for no apparent reason other than being Black.
