Broadway’s Smokey Joe’s Cafe is Coming to Town

Smokey Joe’s Café – directed by Tony award nominee Chet Walker – is coming to Jacksonville as part of the 20th Anniversary national tour of ‘Broadway’s longest running musical revue!’ The show, billed as ‘the hottest joint in town,’ features the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame group, The Coasters. Smokey Joe’s Café is a superb tribute to legendary songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, who ushered in the era of rock ‘n roll, by penning numerous songs that rose to Billboard charts in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s.

This toe-tapping musical features some 38 Billboard hits from Leiber and Stoller, including many of the songs that they wrote for Elvis and The Drifters. Get ready for songs like “Hound Dog,” “Stand by Me,” “Yakety Yak,” “Jailhouse Rock,” “Spanish Harlem,” “On Broadway,” “Kansas City,” “Love Potion #9,” “Fools Fall in Love,” and many more. The full Smokey Joe’s Cafeì cast of fourteen singers and dancers perform to a live-on-stage musical ensemble. Here’s a video sneak peek of the show: http://bit.ly/SJCVideo
