Witness the “hottest show on dirt” that displays the skill and bravery of African-American rodeo competitors as they showcase their talents in an array of events including bull riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, and much more.
Join us in cheering on Jacksonville’s very own rising star, 10-year-old contestant Shailyn Williams, at the rodeo! Shailyn captured hearts and made headlines last year when she and her horse, Apple, clinched the barrel racing jackpot, electrifying the audience with their exceptional performance. Let’s rally behind our local hero as she aims for the stars. Her dedication and unwavering spirit inspires our youth to chase their dreams. Shailyn’s motto is “Why run, when your horse can fly!”
This year we will salute our first responders and the companies who support them by presenting four esteemed local heroes as Grand Marshals. Vickie Cavey, the CEO Managing Director of JEA, along with Keith Powers, the Fire Chief of the Jacksonville Fire Department, and Dr. Charles Moreland, a distinguished Retired Fire Chief and current professor at Jacksonville University, exemplify dedication to service and leadership in emergency response. Together with T.K. Waters, the Head of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, these remarkable individuals form a united front in protecting our community. Their collaborative efforts, expertise, and unwavering commitment to public safety ensure that our city remains resilient, prepared, and secure in the face of any challenge. Join us in celebrating and honoring our Grand Marshals for their outstanding service and invaluable contributions to the Jacksonville community.
USA Today recognized Black Rodeo USA as one of the top 10 rodeos in the United States for its outstanding contribution to the rodeo world. Producer, Lanette Campbell continues to champion the contributions African-Americans have made in shaping the history of the West.
