The 16th annual Florida Black Expo returned to Jacksonville last weekend kicking off with the Black Expo Business Opportunity Summit.
On Friday evening, local musical artist Akia Uwanda and Katzs Downstairs took over the stage at the 7th Annual Taste of Black Jacksonville. Attendees sampled cuisine from local caterers, chefs and restaurants. Throughout the weekend, the Expo was held at the Prime Osborn Convention Center highlighting local businesses, non-profits and workshops.
There were also celebrity appearances by radio host Charlamagne ‘Tha God,’ Disney actress Skai Jackson and a performance by gospel recording artist Marvin Sapp. Attendees were treated to a fashion show, educational workshops, kid’s zone, food, an author’s fair and health fair. Sororities and fraternities held court in Greek village that concluded with the EWC “Homecoming Step show”.
