Councilwoman Ju’Coby Pittman and the Jacksonville City Council were delighted to celebrate the 100th birthday of Mrs. Annie Mae Alexander-Williams. This momentous two-day occasion included a community parade, an evening of special tributes and Sunday service at St. Paul A. M. E. Church.
“This celebration is not only a tribute to Mrs. Annie Mae Alexander-Williams but also a moment to reflect on the strength and resilience of her life,” said Councilwoman Pittman. Mrs. Williams life is a shining example of her work as a wife, she was married to Robert Williams, Sr., for thirty one years; mother of three, grandmother of five, great-grand mother of nine, a sister of six brothers and sisters and a visible mentor to her neighborhood. In addition she served many years as an environmental service employee for the Duval County School Board.
“It is an honor to recognize her remarkable legacy and celebrate this milestone with her and the community,” said Neighbor Carolyn Herring. Shown is the centenarian smiling for the cameras!
