Earlier this summer, the Sigma Pi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was chartered to serve Clay, St. Johns and Duval counties. The chapter held its first officer installation on September 19th at Grove Park Elementary School.  The chapter has thirty members ready to expound on the chapters mission to develop leaders, promote brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities.

Alpha Phi Alpha was founded on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, NY on December, 4, 1906.  The Sigma Pi Lambda chapter looks forward to implementing the fraternities national programs, “Go to High School, Go to College”, “Project Alpha”, “A Voteless People is a Hopeless People”, and “Brother’s Keeper” in their service area.
