Al Lawson Sworn in as Florida’s 5th Congressional District Representative

US Representative-elect Al Lawson has been elected by his peers in the House Democratic Caucus to serve as a Regional Whip for the 115th Congress. Lawson, a veteran lawmaker, who previously served as Democratic Leader in the Florida Senate will represent Florida’s 5th Congressional District in the 115th Congress which convenes on January 3, 2017. Lawson will serve as a Regional Whip for Florida and Georgia.

“I am pleased to have been selected by my peers in the Democratic Caucus of the U.S. House of Representatives to serve as a Regional Whip for Florida and Georgia,” said Lawson. “I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work to help improve our economy, and create more well-paying jobs, and defend hard-working families in Florida’s 5th Congressional District.”  Pictured is Representative-elect Lawson being sworn into the 115th Congress on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.  Florida’s 5th Congressional District covers all or parts of Gadsden, Leon, Jefferson, Madison, Hamilton, Columbia, Baker and Duval counties.
