Agape Family Health CEO Mia Jones was on-hand to accept the the recipient of a $100,000 first-place award from the Florida Blue Foundation at their 2022 Sapphire Awards ceremony in Orlando. Jones received the award for her efforts to advance health equity and increase access to health care services for the uninsured and underserved. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was influential in helping increase the availability of testing and vaccination sites. The monetary award will support the non-profit Agape Community Health Center which provides high-quality, affordable health care services for people regardless of their ability to pay.
At the Sapphire Awards, seven programs, organizations and individuals were selected who make a meaningful impact in their communities related to advancements in health equity.
