Aarons Unveils 9th Renovated Keystone Club in 2015 At Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida

Aaron's and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida Keystone MakeoverAarons Unveils 9th Renovated Keystone Club in 2015 At Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida – Teen Center Makeover Result of Retailer’s Partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of AmericaAaron’s, Inc. a lease-to-own retailer specializing in the sales and lease ownership of furniture, consumer electronics, home appliances and accessories, teamed up with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) today to surprise teens with a newly renovated Keystone teen center at the Beaches Clubhouse of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida. With input from the teen members, Aaron’s associates and Club officials went to work Wednesday morning painting, decorating and furnishing the Club.

Local Aaron’s associates and Club officials then surprised the teen members on Thursday with the makeover, which included new technology, furniture, and fresh coats of paint. “As we look back at the great work we’ve been able to accomplish with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America this year, I’m extremely proud of this partnership and the fresh start it’s giving to thousands of teens across the country with their newly renovated spaces,” said John Robinson, CEO of Aaron’s, Inc. “This year we’ve completed nine Keystone Club makeovers with the Beaches Clubhouse in Jacksonville as the grand finale.  The renovated Keystone Club spaces provide a safe place for teens to learn, study and spend time together as they develop their leadership skills and learn how to give back to their own communities.”

In August, the Aaron’s Foundation, Inc. announced a three-year, $5 million national partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Keystone Program, which helps teens develop their character and leadership skills in hopes of helping them reach their potential and creating positive change in the community. Keystone Club teen centers provide members ages 14-18 an environment to plan and participate in activities that focus on community service, academic success, career preparation and teen outreach. The Keystone Club makeover at the Beaches Clubhouse of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida includes an additional in-kind retail donation valued at $20,000.

For more than 100 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of America (GreatFutures.org) has enabled young people most in need to achieve great futures as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Today, more than 4,100 Clubs serve nearly 4 million young people through Club membership and community outreach. Clubs are located in cities, towns, public housing and on Native lands throughout the country, and serve military families in BGCA-affiliated Youth Centers on U.S. military installations worldwide. They provide a safe place, caring adult mentors, fun and friendship, and high-impact youth development programs on a daily basis during critical non-school hours. Club programs promote academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. In a Harris Survey of alumni, 54 percent said the Club saved their lives.
