A Century of Grace Pearl Mackey Celebrates 100 years

A Century of faith, family and service!  Jacksonville native Pearl Kelly Mackey celebrated her 100th birthday Oct. 3, marking a remarkable journey that began in 1926 a s the youngest of 14 children.

After graduating from high school in New York City, Mackey returned to Jacksonville in 1949, married her childhood sweetheart, Albert M. Mackey and built a life devoted to family and community. Their marriage lasted 62 years before his death in November 2011.

A longtime member of Simpson Memorial United Methodist Church, Mackey served in church ministries and spent 62 years with the Kevinette Bridge Club. Her professional career included positions in education, nonprofit leadership and community services before retiring in 2002.

From witnessing nearly a Century of Jacksonville history to embracing modern technology, Mackey continues to exemplify resilience, lifelong learning and service.  Happy Birthday, Mrs. Mackey! A century of living, loving and leaving a legacy!
