The historic Florida Theatre raised over $55,000 during its 10th annual Blues, Brews, Bourbon and BBQ event. While the Florida Theatre is still under
renovation, this year the events were held at the Bowing Oaks venue on the Southside.
Blues, Brews and BBQ has been a regular part of the Florida Theatre schedule since 2013 showcasing Jacksonville’s best wings, pulled pork, smoked brisket and ore. Vendors didn’t hesitate to put their exotic touch on their recipes debuting everything from brisket macaroni and cheese to BBQ oyster Rockefeller. Adding a fourth ‘B’ to the equation, Bourbon, gave the event another dimension of Southern food and beverage culture to explore. Attendees of this annual event enjoyed an evening of live Blues music from the Snacks Blues Band and Henry Jones, unlimited local BBQ, the best craft beer, and a curated bourbon selection. There was also a live auction with everything from gift cards and vacations that completely sold out.
