Zunzibar Bringing Coastal Cuisine and Curated Cocktails to Jacksonville This Fall

Savannah-Born Restaurant Will Open at Brooklyn Station with Fresh Seafood, Shareable Plates, Curated Cocktails, and a Rooftop Bar

Zunzibar is headed to Jacksonville. The Savannah-born coastal-inspired restaurant and bar, centered on chef-driven food and curated cocktails, will open its first Jacksonville location this fall at 90 Riverside Ave., Suite 601, at Brooklyn Station. Spanning approximately 6,025 square feet across two levels, the restaurant will feature indoor and outdoor dining, an integrated indoor-outdoor bar, and lounge-style gathering spaces.

Jacksonville will become Zunzibar’s fifth location, joining Savannah and Tybee Island, Georgia, as well as Jupiter and Middleton, Florida. The restaurant began in Savannah and has grown around a simple idea: coastal food worth coming back for, cocktails made with the same attention and a room that feels comfortable from the first visit.

“Jacksonville has been on our radar for a long time, and Brooklyn Station gives us the kind of setting we were looking for,” said Loren Bontrager, CEO of Zunzibar. “There is already so much happening in this part of the city, but it still feels like a neighborhood. We want Zunzibar to become a place people work into their routine, whether that means meeting friends for drinks on the rooftop, sharing dinner or stopping in because they already know what they want before they sit down.”

The menu will follow Zunzibar’s coastal, shareable approach with fresh seafood, raw bar selections, small plates, salads, handhelds, and chef plates. Guests can expect dishes such as East Coast oysters, chilled peel-and-eat shrimp, and ceviche, alongside a broader lineup that works just as well for a few plates around the table as for a full meal. Current Zunzibar menus also feature wings, seafood-forward dishes, burgers, and other handhelds.

The food leads the experience, while Zunzibar’s curated cocktail program gives guests another reason to settle in and stay awhile. The bar program centers on fresh ingredients, consistency, and a rotating selection of cocktails, wine, and beer. The rooftop gives Jacksonville guests another way to settle in, especially as the afternoon gives way to evening.

The Jacksonville space will carry Zunzibar’s relaxed, polished design approach across two distinct levels. The first floor will feature an integrated indoor-outdoor bar connecting the dining room to the patio, plus a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs. Upstairs, the space will feel more like a lounge, with living room-style seating for comfort and an industrial Edison-light wall adding a distinctive visual element. Together, the spaces are intended to feel layered and collected rather than overly themed, giving Jacksonville its own expression of Zunzibar while staying true to the brand’s relaxed, intentional aesthetic.

Additional details, including an opening date and hours, will be announced closer to opening.
