On Saturday, July 25, 2015, several beautiful, wise, and personable women competed for the title of Ms. Senior Jacksonville 2015.
The contestants worked hard preparing for their special day, perfecting their talent, securing social media likes to become the Fan Favorite, pushing themselves to be better today than yesterday, and more than anything else, reached passed their comfort zones and proved that age is only a number.
The 2015 crown goes to Ms. Senior Jacksonville, Mrs. Zelma Dickerson. She takes over from the 2014 queen, Debra Thompson. Mrs. Dickerson wowed the judges and the audience with her rendition of Believe in Yourself (sang originally by Lena Horne). She graced the stage in a customized evening dress and shared her powerful words of wisdom with over 300 audience members.
The new queen’s career and storied resume includes Registered Nurse, lecturer, entrepreneur, mentor, life coach, teacher and minister.
Mrs. Dickerson will reign for 1 year advocating for seniors, helping women believe in themselves, and dispelling the myths of aging. In 2016, she will compete for the state title Ms. Florida Senior America.
