Women’s Conference Aims to Empower and Encourage

To combat disparities facing women, Stephanie Jones, owner of Lifestyles Management Counseling held the second annual “Women at Werk” Empowerment Conference last week at the Lexington Hotel on Jacksonville’s Southbank. Hundreds of women were engaged in discussion about a female’s role in the workplace and the many responsibilities that women balance between their careers and families.

This year’s speaker was TV personality and daughter of Reverend Run (Run DMC), Vanessa Jean Simmons. Her family was featured in the MTV reality show “Run’s House,” and she was recently the host and judge of Project Runway.

Simmons motivated the women to “Live their best life” and take the reins off and become the woman you want to be now.  Founder Stephanie Jones remarked, “Women need someone in their corner cheerleading and encouraging them to reach higher heights!”
