By Lequita Brooks LCSW MSW, The Social Work Incubator | I believe it is more important now than ever for Leaders to take a stance, be solid in their beliefs, show up, and lead.
I couldn’t care less whether you are a Trump supporter or a Harris supporter. What I care about is you capitalizing on this moment in time to be intentional and strategic.
For those of you who enjoy being on the sidelines and don’t necessarily want to be the face or the voice, I get it. It’s totally OK to be an ally in the background making things move, shake, and build momentum.
Whatever you believe in, whatever legacy you desire for your family and community at large, it is time more now than ever for you to show up in your leadership role whether you’re the face or the background player – both roles are equally important.
This is not the time to sit and complain because the outcome will still be the same once you finish your vent session.
I challenge you to use your anger, your frustration, or even the relief you are experiencing at this moment from election season being over to position yourself for even more opportunities that will allow you to have even more impact.
I heard Lamar Tyler from Traffic, Sales, and Profits (TSP) say, “We Are The Ones We Are Looking For” while listening to the Kickoff Call Replay in Skool.
The realization is, that politicians are going to politic.
TSP’s Manifesto entails four pillars to remind us of our collective power to take ownership of our life, career, business, and legacy:
(1) We are the manifestation of the work, sweat, and tears that our ancestors dreamed about.
(2) We don’t look outside of our community for a handout, we look inside to provide a hand up.
(3) We have a fierce dedication to continual learning.
(4) We don’t expect to receive business because we are black. We receive business because we operate in excellence.
