The inaugural Comprehensive Rural Opportunity Program (C.R.O.P.) “Beauty of the Soil – Natural Cosmetics & Personal Care,” event for girls ages 13 – 17, gave new meaning for young ladies learning about natural beauty.  Created by Wealth Watchers, the initiative is designed to enhance the coordination of outreach, technical assistance and education efforts to reach socially disadvantaged.  During the program day, teenage girls learn how agriculture and natural cosmetics intersect to promote beauty, self-confidence and sustainable practices. The young ladies visited a local urban farm in New Town and learned how to bring natural products from their backyard to aid with their skin care needs. The curious youth also participated in a hands-on workshop project making lip scrub, soap and lemongrass infused oil, while exploring the benefits of using natural and organic products as well as find ways to connect with the earth. Wealth Watchers Inc., in partnership with Mommies with Attitudes, hosted the day-long workshop focused on empowering girls with knowledge of integrating agricultural resources into skin care products. Shown are students enjoying the day connecting to Mother Nature.
