Nearly 20 years after Why Did I Get Married? introduced audiences to four couples navigating love, marriage and life’s challenges, Tyler Perry is bringing the beloved franchise back with Why Did I Get Married Again? The film will premiere exclusively on Netflix Sept. 9.
The new chapter reunites returning stars Jill Scott, Richard T. Jones, Michael Jai White, Tasha Smith and Sharon Leal, with Taraji P. Henson joining the cast. Set around a destination wedding, the longtime friends soon find the celebration turning into emotional conversations, hidden truths and relationship struggles fans have come to expect from the series.
The original 2007 film became one of Perry’s biggest box office successes, followed by the 2010 sequel Why Did I Get Married Too? Both films remain fan favorites, making the third installment one of the most anticipated returns in the franchise’s history.
