The Jacksonville Chapter of The Links, Incorporated welcomed four dynamic ladies committed to service into their “Chain of Friendship” during a private ceremony held at the Jacksonville Golf & Country Club. last week. Leaders in the areas of education, law, and business, the newest members are Biannca Hill , Sherri Luke, Patricia Sams, and Debbie Sapp. Adding to the special occasion, Links from the Bold City (FL), Tallahasse (FL), and Buckhead Cascade City (GA) Chapter attended to welcome the new inductees with love.
After months of new member orientation and preparations, these talented and professional women partnered with St. Paul Church of Jacksonville to implement their service project titled, “Dream Girls: A Career, Health, and Safety Expo”. Held at Ribault Middle School, the community event was open to youth 12 and up and parents featuring a forum focusing on the growing epidemic of human trafficking and a vendor showcase including health and safety education in addition to job readiness.
Founded on the principles of friendship and service, The Jacksonville Chapter of The Links, Incorporated will celebrate 50 years next year and is under the leadership of Mrs. Kenyonn Demps. The chapter is also the recipient of a First Place programming award for their Umbrella Project, “ GEMS”(Girls Empowered and Motivated to Succeed) awarded at the Links’ 39th National Assembly last year.
