
By Chanda Holsey | The Iota Mu Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. also known as the “Quad County Ques” hosted their Achievement Week Scholarship Banquet, an annual event that serves as an occasion to celebrate the accomplishments of chapter members, recognize outstanding local community leaders, and honor the achievements of youth scholarship applicants.
The Banquet was held at the Rhythm Factory and garnered strong attendance from citizens of their four counties of service.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Chanda Nicole Holsey, a respected local community leader, who spoke on the international theme “Impactful Service through Intentional Friendships.”
During the evening, the Chapter’s International Essay Contest winners were recognized with the following recipients: for their exceptional academic and extracurricular accomplishments. The awards were presented as follows: 1st Place: Mr. David Whaley – $2,000 scholarship award; 2nd Place: Ms. Savannah Holsey – $1,000 scholarship award; and 3rd Place: Mr. Elijah Lewis – $500 scholarship award.
Other award recipients were Bro. Elysha Campbell, Omega Man of the Year, IMN Chapter, 2025; Bro. Vinnie Johnson, Founders Lifetime Achievement Award; Dr. Yvette Jones, Citizen of the Year, and Bro Marvin Brown, Superior Service Award. The President Award was presented to Bro. Ernest Wilford and Bro. Sheldon Mills, by president Brian Hargrove.
The event served as a platform to highlight African American pride and success. During the year, the volunteers enforcing their community program initiatives.
Founded in 1911, the chapter’s cohorts include achievement week, scholarships, social action committees, health initiatives, voter registration, education and mobilization, STEM, and fatherhood and mentoring committees.
