In just 80 days, from January 8 through March 29, 2025, the Prostate Health Education Network reached over 2 million people through its Prostate Cancer Community Rally social media and radio awareness campaigns in Charlotte, NC, Dallas, TX, and Boston, MA. During the culmination of these rallies, more than 430 people attended educational events, which were held both online and in-person, where over 200 men received free PSA screenings as part of PHEN’s partnership with the Prostate Conditions Educational Council. As part of these rallies, PHEN hosts a community forum, which brings together local leaders, clergy, healthcare professionals, survivors, and their families to focus on local efforts with PHEN in the ongoing fight against prostate cancer.
The American Cancer Society estimates show an alarming 80% increase in prostate cancer diagnoses from 2019 (174,650 cases) to 2025 (313,780 cases). This represents the most significant rise among all primary cancers, with Black men diagnosed at a rate more than 70% higher than that of white men and having more than twice the mortality rate.
“These numbers are alarming and require immediate action,” said Thomas A. Farrington, PHEN president and founder. “PHEN is responding to this prostate cancer crisis through our Community Rallies, targeting men in the highest risk communities throughout the country.”
