For 19 years she taught in the Duval County Public School (DCPS) system utilizing her elementary education degree for students to succeed in the classroom.  Once out of the classroom Dr. Pinkney and her husband Pastor Frederic Pinkney, founded Joshua Christian Academy (JCA), a ministry of Joshua Christian Faith Center. As the years progressed,  As the years progressed, JCA adjoined an elementary/middle school and now the Dr. Pinkney High School.  “God has given my family and I the opportunity to convert this school and function for students that may not want to finish college.  We wrote the vision and now God is seeing us through,” said Dr. Pinkney. JCA currently admits and educates more than 375 students and is accredited by the National Association of Private Schools, a consortium of Christian educators and schools from across the United States.
